How to use Kopete to chat in Google Talk

Gtalk is a windows applications. In Linux you can use a generic Jabber client; My Kde IM client is kopete.
You can configure kopete for this in few simple steps:

1) Run kopete

2) Click menu “settings”>”Configure”

3) Click “Accounts” > “New…”

4) Select Jabber protocol

5) Insert yuour “username@gmail.com” in JabberID

6) Check Remember password and insert your password in the pass field

7) In the Connection tab, check: - Use protocol encryption SSL - Allow plain-text password authentication - Override default server information and fill server field with “66.102.11.125″ or “gtalk.google.com” and port “5223″

Now press OK and you account configuration is done!

Press the Lightbulb to connect!
