FIX: Adjusting brightness on a Lenovo T510 running ubuntu 12.10

Ubuntu 12.10 default installation, comes without NVIDIA driver and without the possibility to adjust the LCD brightness level.
In this post I will explain you how to fix this annoying problem, expecially for people like me which use laptop in the dark.
Here is the step by step guide:
1. Install NVIDIA proprietary drivers: apt-get install nvidia-current
2. reboot machine or restart lightdm
3. run nvidia-settings and press “Save X Configuration File” from the “X Server Display Configuration” to save the detected configuration to file. I suggest you to save it to /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Root password will be asked.
4. Open /etc/X11/xorg.conf with your preferred editor and in the section “Device” add the following line: Option “RegistryDwords” “EnableBrightnessControl=1”
5. Reboot the laptop or restart lightdm
6. Enjoy!
