Vodafone K4350 3G USB Dongle

Today I had the chance to use an old 3G usb dongle on ubuntu 16.04. As many other huawei modem, it gets recognized as usb mass storage when plugged in.

The device gets  a vendor id of 12d1 and when in usb mass storage  mode product ID is  0x1f15.

# lsusb

In order to use  the device  as 3G modem you have to run:

# usb_modeswitch -J -v 0x12d1 -p 0x1f15

The product id  turns to 0x1400  and through cdc-ether you can communicate over ethernet over usb.

The modem web interface is reachable at http://192.168.9.1/html/home.htm
